At The Story Siren I came across the weekly meme “In my mailbox”. As so often I’m late in joining and late in posting, I think it’s supposed to be posted on Mondays, but better late than never. This is a good way to keep track of what new books I got and want to read in the near future, so here we go.
The last week I got
- “Unleashing Angel” by Mel Spenser, which I am reading now.
- “Grillsaison” by Philipp Kohlhöfer
- “The Wings of the Sphinx” by Andrea Camilleri, the latest instalment of Camilleri’s Montalbano series
Have you been reading the Montalbano series since the first book..
I know of the series, but just didn’t have anymore time to add another inspector to the long list in my head and on my bookshelf..
I love the blurb on this one – I did check out some of the reivews on Amazon, it seems as if the author is still going strong with the series.
Happy reading…

E.H., yes, I’ve read all the Montalbano books in German. Some of them don’t seem to be out in English (the ones with short stories), but if you are interested, I created an amazon list with the books in the right order: http://www.amazon.com/lm/RSSGE6PZXFPNK/ref=cm_pdp_lm_title_1
Camilleri is a great storyteller, my only hope is that he will come up with a few more books about Montalbano. As I said in a previous post, M. is the epitome of man for me (good and bad) and I love him to pieces. The books are not only good mysteries, but also have lots of interesting characters that you will come to love and a great Sicilian atmosphere. I highly recommend them.
