Steampunk Flash Fiction contest winners

Voting for the Steampunk Flash Fiction Writing Contest ended yesterday. The winner was not immediately obvious because some people don’t seem to read what’s being said and just vote in whatever way they want.
Just in case anybody is wondering, I did not count the two comments below the poll. Commenting on the poll site was not the proper way to vote.

So, to cut a long story short…

Winner of the Steampunk Flash Fiction Writing contest is Chris Pantazis with his story no. 33. (44 votes).

The two runners up are Horatio der Vere with story no. 40 and Paul Cyr with story no. 9 “Synaesthesia” (both 37 votes)

Congratulations to the winners! I will contact you by email as soon as possible.

Thank you everybody for participating. I am sure we all enjoyed reading your stories, it was a fun event.

  1. Why did I only find out about this yesterday? AAAAUUUUGGGHHH!

ahem. Lovely stories. Will you be having another contest soon?

  2. Also, many thanks to Rikki for hosting the contest, and to Kristi for furnishing the prizes. I might not have written in this genre without this contest as an inspiration, and I certainly never would have written the story I did. It was a blast reading the other entrants’ work, as well. Some of you folks are very talented indeed. Keep writing!

Win or not, it sure was a lot of fun. Great stuff all around.

  3. hollygoodnight, I wouldn’t mind running another contest in the future, but we haven’t planned anything definite yet.

    Kristi, I agree.

Jeff, thanks. It was fun to organize it. And even more fun reading all the entries.

  4. Rikki,
I too would like to thank you for hosting the contest. I had fun with the two pieces I entered. I think I’ll keep working on them to see where they go.

I alerted a friend of mine to the contest and she was thrilled to read through the entries. I believe she voted for one. Not mine. Hmmmm.

    Thank You
