Book beginnings on Friday
Today’s book beginning is from a book I read and blogged about quite some time ago, but I kind of liked the first sentence, so I thought I’d feature it here. It is from “Gods behaving badly” by Marie Phillips, a pretty funny story, especially if you know a little about Greek mythology.
Here is the first sentence:
One morning when Artemis was out walking the dogs, she saw a tree where no tree should be.

Intriguing opening line. Thanks for sharing…and for visiting my blog.
I know a bit of mythology, and Artemis has always been one of my favorites. Going to read what you blogged about it. Thanks!

This book looks like fun – especially with a cover like that!

Yes, I also think that the cover is very appealing.
This first line sounds intriguing
If you love mythology mixed with witty sentences and great characters, you will love Jeanette Winterson’s Weight. It’s part of a whole re-writing mythology series. I have read two more, but this is the best, you won’t be disappointed!
