In my mailbox

Not too many books in the last couple of weeks, but good ones…
I swapped
“The hottest dishes of the Tartar cuisine” by Alina Bronsky. I got it in the original German where it is called “Die schärfsten Gerichte der tartarischen Küche”
For review
Through the RandomHouse Early Bird Read:
“Catherine the Great. Portrait of a woman” by Robert K. Massie. It seems this is the time for books about Catherine the Great.

I am not allowed to buy any other book this year, so I am reading what is waiting for me for ages and waiting to get the pre-ordered memoir “why be happy when you could be normal?” by Winterson

I like the title of the memoir. Very appealing!
If your TBR pile is like mine I am sure you have no problem finding books to read even without buying new ones.
You definitely have to read some Winterson, but just to warn you, it is addictive

Can you recommend something for a newbie?
Now, that is a tough question, since I love everything she has written! Hmm, I started with “Written on the Body” and that got me hooked

Ally, the book you suggest sounds rather interesting, I will have a look whether I can find it on my swap site or on bookmooch. Thanks!
You’re very welcome! I hope you won’t be disappointed
