My reading list for January & December recap

In December:
- I reviewed Where the God of love hangs out by Amy Bloom
- I read The Sunday Philosophy Club by Alexander McCall Smith
- I gave up on Empress by Evelyn McCune.
- I also DNF’ed Head over Heel by Chris Harrison.
- I read Friends, Lovers, Chocolate by Alexander McCall Smith
I listed a few sites where you can get free e-books.
I talked about Christmas a LOT.
John posted his second review of a graphic novel.

For this month I am planning to:
- continue Comeback love by Peter Golden
- have a look at Weeknights with Giada by Giada de Laurentiis, a cookbook that I got from Netgalley
In order to succeed with my various challenges I want to read one book for each one every month. So they would be
- Changeless by Gail Carriger
- The lion, the witch and the wardrobe by C. S. Lewis
- Together with my current McCall Smith obsession this is more than enough I would think.
- You got any plans for January?

Yes, I plan to battle those mountain ranges of unread books, and with a bit of luck, I won’t think of buying new books if I’ve constantly got my nose stuck in one. Reading is both escapism and distraction. And, it’s only six months of not buying any books. Easy peasy!

Of course it is, Birgit. Don’t let them tell you otherwise! Those 6 months will have passed in a flash!
I am planning on reading all the books I’ll get next 6th January (Spanish tradition) which will be 4. But my goal is to pass the 6 exams I’m sitting, so I’ll need lots of non-academic reading and TV to get through it. Senior year, here I come!

Shakespeare and more Shakespeare for me this month (for a challenge at A Literary Odyssey). I am also planning to read The Invention of Hugo Cabret, as I loved the film adaptation when I saw it last month.
It sounds like you have some good reading ahead. I hope you enjoy the Narnia books. I reread them a year ago (2010) and loved them more than ever.

I have heard different things about the Narnia books. A lot of people say they liked them more as a child, but since I have never read them, I am starting totally “unbiased” towards them.
I never got into Shakespeare and am curious to read what you will have to say about him.
