Today it is Top Ten Tuesday freebie and we can choose any topic we want, so I will go for my top ten historical fiction books.
I like historical fiction that has at least some sort of realistic connection to the time it is talking about, maybe a real event that the story builds upon, or real people whose story is told in a fictional way. So, here we go…
Top Ten Historical Fiction Books
- I, Claudius & Claudius, the God by Robert von Ranke Graves (Goodreads)
- Rubicon by Tom Holland (Goodreads)
- Imperium by Robert Harris (Goodreads)
- The Masters of Rome series by Colleen McCullough (I am now reading the 2nd book) (My review of book 1 + Goodreads)
- The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley (Goodreads)
- The Firebrand by Marion Zimmer Bradley (Goodreads)

I loved Chevalier’s The Lady and the Unicorn and also Sarah Dunant’s historical novels, especially In the Company of the Courtesan
Ally@ Snow Feathers’s last post ..It’s all about Ali!
I haven’t heard of either the book or the other writer. Will check them out. Thanks, Ally.
I’m not a huge fan of historical fiction but my mom bought me “The Other Boleyn Girl” years ago and I loved it. There is also this Spanish historical fiction writer called Matilde Asensi who has great books. Is she published in Germany?
I have heard of that one and heard good things about it, too. I had to check the Spanish author on amazon, but the only books they have by her are in Russian and Serbian (?). So it seems she is not published in German. What time are her books set in?
