This month I am planning to
- oh, well, continue The Grass Crown which is so so excellent, but at the same time so heavy (weight wise) that I can’t take it anywhere or even read it in bed comfortably.
- continue Started early, took my dog by Kate Atkinson
- MAYBE continue to listen This is how you lose her by Junot Diaz – I realized audio books are not for me. I don’t enjoy being read to. At all.
How was YOUR reading month?

I’ve never got beyond the No 1 Ladies Detective Agency but I should try some other books of McCall too. You seem to have read a few.
I’m curious about the Atkinson book. I’ve read a few of hers and liked them, but they’re not very memorable for me. Are you enjoying this one?
Re: audionbooks – well, I also find it difficult to listen to them. I can only do it when I’m involved in a very simple task, such as ironing or driving the car, otherwise I got so distracted!

Judith, I didn’t like the No. Ladies’ Detective Agency books, but the other ones I have read so far were super!
About the Atkinson, Elena recommended it. At first I didn’t like the style at all, but I am getting into it now.
With audio books I always think I would be quicker reading them myself and I don’t enjoy that delay.
Oh mine was a complete dissaster! With my last final (and nervously waiting for my mark) and my new job as a teacher I just didn’t have time to read. However, I did finish Kate Morton’s The Secret Keeper and started Kay Scarpetta # 2 (she’s a forensic doctor, not your cup of tea although she’s a very complex and interesting female character).
I’m amazed you always find time to read, craft and cook. I think it’s very inspiring.

I think I started a Kay Scarpetta book once and didn’t ike it. Not my cup of tea at all, you are right.
I have an audiobook sitting on my shelf waiting to be read, errr, listened to, and I fear that I might be faced with the same problem as you. Though maybe it’ll be just fine and my thoughts will not drift off while listening (which is my biggest fear).
I’ve signed up for the Literary Blog Hop as well, yay!
And my reading month has been quite non-fictiony, so to speak, which is why I decided to only read novels in February. I also got started on my first tome for the Tea & Books Reading Challenge, “It” by Stephen King. And so far … it drags … ain’t that just my luck?
Birgit’s last post ..Pajama Musings – I need a curse for that!
Never read “It”, but a lot of Stephen King. John, however, says that It is very good, just a bit slow as it seems SK takes a lot of time to develop the characters. So stay put! You will get a pay off!
Indeed, audio books are not for me either, and I wish I had read more during January, but I am looking to the 9th of February, when hopefully, I will have more free time for the Venice in February Reading Challenge
